Adventure Bites is a digital and real-life tool designed to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who experience challenges related to food selectivity. The app invites children to join Nino, the protagonist, on a journey through various animal villages, each themed around a single food. Through interactive tasks and storytelling, children engage with foods gradually—first by seeing them in the game, then by touching, smelling, and eventually tasting them in real life. The experience is guided by evidence-based strategies such as gradual sensory exposure and token-based motivation. Children earn rewards in the form of collectible patches and accessories that reflect their progress and are stored in a personalized Discovery Journal. The game also includes a companion Parent Hub, where families can create custom villages based on their child’s specific food challenges, track progress, and access supportive resources. Adventure Bites aims to bridge digital engagement with meaningful real-world experiences, helping children build familiarity, confidence, and curiosity around new foods through gentle, structured play.
